About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel - Public Affairs to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and guidance on a wide range of gaming law issues, with a focus on state and federal laws and regulations governing fantasy sports, sports betting, and broader gaming activities. This role involves strategic legal counsel on emerging trends, regulatory risks, and opportunities related to gaming law and public policy. The Senior Legal Counsel will also lead the development and execution of legislative advocacy strategies, draft legislative materials, and represent the company in meetings with lawmakers and policymakers. Applicants must have 5-9 years of legal experience in gaming or gaming-adjacent law, with a strong preference for those with a background in the DFS industry. The role requires a J.D. from an accredited law school, a license to practice law in at least one state in the USA, and a willingness to travel as needed. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player, capable of working in cross-functional capacities, and comfortable reporting to executive-level supervisors. Experience in managing outside counsel from large, national law firms and a background in corporate public affairs are also highly valued. The position demands a proactive individual who can monitor and analyze proposed legislation and ensure that the company's policies and procedures align with evolving gaming and financial regulations.
