Description The Freight Broker is responsible for all aspects of strategically sourcing of capacity for an assigned account(s) and will act as an advocate for the customers supply chain to the carrier community in the marketplace on behalf of M2 Logistics, as well as championing the client internally. Through developing new and existing carrier relationships, the Freight Broker will work with the Account Manager to discover, develop, and implement solutions that meet/exceed internal growth expectations and external service/value add/client satisfaction expectations. The Position: Consistent engagement with the Account Manager to understand growth opportunities, at risk situations, areas of focus for yield improvement, and forecasting Through proactive and ongoing conversations with new and existing carriers, present opportunities, develop creative solutions and help sell benefits of solution for presentation to customer. Maintain understanding of the account "Funnel of Opportunities" within customers supply chain and work with Account Manager to Pursue/Sell & close with customer. Resolve business escalation issues as they relate to ongoing carrier and customer retention. Lead the implementation of dedicated and repeat carrier solutions to allow for smooth onboarding and excellent ongoing service. Cover repeat lanes within the POD and build consistent and reliable capacity around these lanes. Cover spot opportunities within the POD Partner with Market Leads to share opportunities and strategically influence for solutions through working with the carrier sales owner and/or engaging a carrier through introduction. Ensure that our Carrier Sales group has a solid understanding of the customer requirements so that they can successfully cover freight that gets allocated to the Market teams. Work to convert spot and inconsistent lanes into dedicated lanes for the customer; the goal is to build a strong base of volume and capacity within the POD Work with Strategic Sourcing group as needed to source new capacity. Minimum of 3-5 years of carrier interaction and procurement experience desirable. Passionate about problem solving, relationship building, and creating carrier loyalty.
